Imagine for a moment Sweden declaring war on and violently annexing Norway. The idea is close to unthinkable, in much the same way war between Greensboro and Raleigh would be. The Nordic countries have not warred amongst themselves for over 200 years.

C.O.N.F.L.I.C.T. Alliance Welcomes New Officers

The department of Peace and Conflict Studies’ student organization C.O.N.F.L.I.C.T Alliance is proud to announce the new Head Office/President Christelle Barakat and Vice-President Marc Caron. Both Christelle and Marc are currently pursuing Masters of Arts degrees in Peace and Conflict Studies. Additionally, both Christelle and Marc are currently working as contributing editors of UNCG’s Peace and Conflict Studies Journal, The Global Journal of Peace Research and Praxis. The two took the time to answer interview questions regarding these two activities.

Noor Ghazi Translates “Preparing for Peace” into Arabic

Noor Ghazi is a Peace activist and a Graduate of the Peace and Conflict Studies Masters Program. She is currently an Arabic lecturer in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, as well as an instructor of Arabic and Humanities at Durham Technical Community College.

New Administrative Support Specialist Joins PCS Department

The Peace and Conflict Studies Department welcomes Danielle Salvatore who joins as the new Administrative Support Specialist.

Danielle graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and International & Global Studies with a concentration in Human Rights. Additionally, she completed a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies, giving her an understanding of the subject matter of the department.
