The Peace Alliance (also called the Community Organizers Nurturing & Fostering Lives in Conflict Transformation (C.O.N.F.L.I.C.T.) Alliance) is a Student Organization dedicated to challenging societies understanding of conflict whilst bringing awareness to the importance of peace and conflict education.

Our Goal

  • Engage the University of North Carolina at Greensboro community of students, faculty, and staff, as well as communities outside the institution, in relationships that prioritize listening to each-other for understanding and supporting individual praxis of conflict transformation.
  • To create as a space for students and other community members to gather and take classroom teachings of peace and conflict studies and apply them in facilitated group dialogue for the purpose of continuing to expand the field and enhance our critical awareness
  • To act as a liaison group between the home department and program students for the purpose of establishing and cultivating relationships between students and faculty.
  • To assist in Peace and Conflict Studies departmental development in any capacity.
  • To educate the community of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro about the nature and culture of conflict management, resolution and transformation skills and values.
  • To eventually participate in local efforts that include partnering for activities and programs of non-profits and community-based organizations that reflect the skills and tools of peace and conflict studies, in order to encourage Alliance affiliates to engage and volunteer.
