About the StoryTelling Festival – 2025
The Storytelling Festival is focused on positive youth and community development through constructive storytelling. The festival will invite teachers with their students K through 12 from Guilford County to UNCG to hear from diverse storytellers in StoryShows and participate in StoryShops geared towards them developing speaking and writing skills.
Open Mic Night for storytellers is open to the public. Join us!
Scheduled Events for participants only
- September 9th-12th, 9:30AM-2PM
K-12 students and storytellers - September 13th, 4–5:30 PM
Celebratory reception for principals, teachers, partners, storytellers, and other dignitaries
Open to the public
What: Open Mic Night for storytellers (and poets) – including parents and other guests
When: September 12th, 6–8 PM
Where: Elliot University Center (EUC ) Auditorium on UNCG campus
volunteers needed!
Help to make our Storytelling event a success! We need 20 UNCG Faculty, Staff, and/or Student volunteers. Volunteers will receive a Storytelling t-shirt, breakfast, lunch, and snacks as well as a $100 honorarium.
Volunteers will :
- Track seatings and attendance
- Escort K through 12 groups from their buses to events and event to buses
